The Summer Festival of the Berliner Festspiele
For the first time on 28 June, the Berliner Festspiele launched its ambitious summer festival at our theater building. Arriving at 4 p.m. were streams of visitors, all eager to experience the Berliner Festspiele in a completely new way. There were spectacular performances on the main stage, exclusive readings in the Piscatorloge, music in the garden, dance performances in the lobby, staged readings, guided tours of the theater, discussions at the Bornemann Bar, a photo auction in the foyer, and much more.
Circa 3000 guests – including many VIPs from the spheres of politics and culture – came to stroll, to sit under the chestnut trees of Berlin's loveliest theatre garden, getting to know the festival director and manager at the kickoff address, acquiring information at the “festival Islands,” or dancing the night away in the lobby.
Among the most frequent heard questions of the day was: “Will this event be repeated?” We certainly plan to!
