Summer Party of the Berliner Festspiele
Free admission

Scenes from Beckett, Balkan beats, beer garden; stage readings, table football chat, theatre playground; chanson programme, champagne bar, cocktail lounge; voodoo show, fire acts, video art; Finnish jazz, garden music, stage tours; dance floor, art auction, celebrity readings – visitors to the Berliner Festspiele Summer Party can expect all of this and more on Saturday 28 June from 4 p.m. to open end in the Haus der Berliner Festspiele.

The Summer Party will open with a flourish on the theatre forecourt and a Dada voice-image performance on the roof. Then the whole theatre will come alive with music, dance, theatre, parties, discussion and meetings, and plenty of food and drink – on the main stage, the side stage, the foyers, the Bornemann Bar, the Piscatorloge and of course in Berlin’s prettiest theatre garden. For our very young guests we will be providing a special children’s programme from 4.30 p.m, and theatre educationalists will be on hand to look after children.

Participants include: Volker Schlöndorff, Schnaftl Ufftschik, David Moss, Kalle Kalima, Joachim Sartorius, Wolfgang Krause Zwieback, Alexandra Kamp, Christina Weiss, musikFabrik Köln, Dzevad Karahasan, Antjie Krog, Yoko Tawada, Katharina Linder’s, Carole King, Peter Raue, DJane Grace Kelly, the street dancers from the Naunynritze youth centre, the Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz youth club, choreographer Katja Keya Richter with the Hochschule für Schauspielkunst Ernst Busch Dance Theatre, Anne Retzlaff with Sissimetall, Marco Trochelmann, Otmar Wagner, Karen Schönemann and the Berliner Festspiele Festival Directors.
