“Even though I unfortunately stayed for a short time, still I was inspired by the general atmosphere of Theatertreffen and the productions I had the chance to see. For me meetings with the artists were also very profitable as well as open discussions to the public. To sum up my thoughts, I must say that it is a very energetic, inspiring and stimulating festival and I enjoyed sharing this energy.”
“The participation in Theatertreffen has been for me one of the richest professional experiences I have ever had. All the productions, I had the opportunity to see, were in one sense or another good and remarkable productions. This is a great opportunity to know in a close way what German theatre is nowadays and of course now I have more elements to continue working in the artistic selection for our Festival in 2006.
All the meetings and visits were very useful. I feel that some day one of our politicians should go to your country and learn something about the public responsibility to believe and support the arts in society today.”
Maria Adela Donadio, Vizedirektorin Festival Iberoamericano de Teatro de Bogotá, Kolumbien (tt04 und tt06)
“It is already a tradition that the Goethe Institute comes together with our festival Porto Alegre em Cena. And for the next edition we want to repeat this great partnership inviting one or two German companies to be in our program. I would like to register my sincere gratefulness for the opportunity on meeting the new German companies and their spectacles. It is for sure a gift for the world theatre.”
Luciano Alabarse, künstlerischer Leiter Festival „Porto Alegre em Cena“, Porto Alegre, Brasilien (tt06)
“It is my great pleasure to thank you for all your help and wonderful organization, during our visit to Berlin. We really enjoyed our stay in Berlin very much. With guest performances we want to bring the soul of this country to our country.”
Amal Allana, Vorsitzende National School of Drama, New Delhi, Indien (tt06)
“I take this opportunity to write as a means of thanking you for the arrangements your office provided in my recent participation in Theatertreffen 2006 a few weeks ago. I’ve had the good fortune of travelling to many theatre festivals and events around the world, but have not experienced the care in preparation which you offered. What you and the staff at Goethe Institute managed was much appreciated, and I know as professionals, this is what you do all the time. But you always thought through in advance what the delegation needed and you guided and directed us through the two weeks we were in Berlin. It was efficient, challenging and interesting.”
Del Hamilton, Leiter Theater 7 Stages, Atlanta, USA (tt06)
“It was one of the most inspiring trips of my career and the Berlin Goethe Institute was absolutely fabulous. I managed to meet with innumerable artists, producers, and international colleagues – so it was a feast of delights from beginning to end. I honestly feel that I now have a relatively good handle on the contemporary theatre scene in the country – and to top it all off, have made some lasting new friendships.”
Don Shipley, Artistic Director, Dublin Theatre Festival (tt05)
