Talented and promising young theatre makers, musicians and authors find a forum for their work and the support they need for their creative development in the three National Contests of the Berliner Festspiele, supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
A jury of artists, authors, musicians and applied drama professionals reviews many hundreds of applications and selects outstanding productions, songs and texts for the programmes of the three National Contests. Successful entries are presented to the public in performances, concerts and readings. Workshops on a variety of topics allow the young artists to exchange ideas and to discuss them with seasoned professionals. Creative energies are generated, giving the young artists ideas for new works. The Berliner Festspiele and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research will follow their future development with great interest.
