Eight new plays for the 2010 Stückemarkt!
297 new plays from all over Europe were entered for the 2010 Stückemarkt under its title “Wer die Wahrheit liebt, lügt – Whoever loves the truth is lying.“ The jury consisting of five renowned authors and theatremakers – Burghart Klaußner, Iris Laufenberg, Falk Richter, Marlene Streeruwitz and Malte Ubenauf – has now made its choice.The following five authors will present their texts as staged readings within the Theatertreffen:
Ekat Cordes, Oldenburg: “Endless Ferment”
Claudia Grehn, Berlin: “Harvest”
Wolfram Lotz, Leipzig: “The Great March”
Peca Stefan, Târgoviste (Romania): “Wire and Acrobats”v
Julian van Daal, Vienna: “Turn Everything Off”
Each of these authors will be mentored by one of the jurors in a year-long programme stretching beyond the Stückemarkt – a new initiative for 2010.
Three more authors have been nominated by the jury to take part in a playwriting workshop led by John von Düffel:
Thomas Arzt, Vienna: “Protest of a Provincial Proletarian”
Hannes Becker, Leipzig: “Friendly People”
Sandra Kellein, Berlin: “An Advanced Course in Feeling Good”
The Stückemarkt programme with all relevant dates and times will be announced together with the Theatertreffen programme at the end of March.
