What are the Stückemarkt playwrights doing now?
++ Wolfram Lotz and Thomas Arzt have been voted Young Playwrights of the Year 2011 by Theater heute.++ Numerous other recent Stückemarkt participants also made it to the short list in the Theater heute vote: Paul Brodowsky, Thomas Freyer, Claudia Grehn, Oliver Kluck, Philipp Löhle, Mario Salazar and Juri Sternburg.
++ The play ‘Grillenparz’ by Thomas Arzt, a Stückemarkt workshop participant in 2010, received its world premiere in 2011 at Schauspielhaus Vienna and was awarded the Hans Gratzer Prize.
++ Oliver Kluck (winner of the 2009 Stückemarkt New Playwriting Prize) was awarded the Kleist Development Prize. His play ‘Waiting Room Future’ was given its world premiere in 2010 as a co-production between the Ruhrfestspiele and Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg. The Association of Arts and Culture of German Business awarded him its playwriting prize in 2011.
++ ‘Balkan Music’ by Daniel Mezger (a participant in the 2007 Stückemarkt) received its Swiss premiere on 21st December 2011 at Schlachthaus Bern.
++ The commissioned play ‘Seymour oder Ich bin nur aus Versehen hier’ by 2011 prizewinner Anne Lepper had its world premiere on 8th January 2012 at Schauspiel Hannover.
++ Juri Sternburg’s play ‘the tramp’s already gone’ received its world premiere on 15th January 2012 at the Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin. It was directed by the Stückemarkt playwright Ekat Cordes.
++ Konradin Kunze’s ‘foreign angst’ will have its world premiere next season at Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden.
++ The actor Milan Peschel will direct the play ‘All That Glitters’ by Mario Salazar in December 2012 at Theater Heidelberg.
