For the fifth time young European writers will present short stories which have been written especially for the event.

Scritture Giovani is run in cooperation with the festivaletteratura Mantova (Italy), The Guardian Hay Festival (GB) and the bjørnsonfestivalen Molde (Norway).

Cristiano Cavina was born in Casola Valsenio, in the Ravenna province, in 1974. He has won literary competitions and published his debut novel, “Alla grande”, in 2002. His most recent book is “Nel paese di Tolintesàc”.

Kirsten Fuchs, born in Karl-Marx-Stadt (Chemnitz) in 1977, grew up in East Berlin. She debuted with the novel “Die Titanic und Herr Berg” in 2005. A collection of columns that she wrote for the “taz” appeared in the summer of 2006 under the title “Zieh dir das mal an!”

Gaute Heivoll, born in Finsland, Norway, in 1978, has published a volume of short stories and two novels. He has received several grants and won the Tiden Literature Prize in 2003.

Aneirin Karadog writes poetry predominantly in the Welsh Cynghanedd metre. He raps in several languages with the Hip Hop band “Y Diwygiad” and has received the distinguished scholarship of the Royal National Eisteddfod.

Ana Prieto Nadal, born in Barcelona in 1976, was awarded the Ojo Crítico Prize for her debut novel “La matriz y la sombra”. It focuses on the theme of emotional attitudes within a romantic relationship specifically from a female perspective.
