The well-known author, best known for her children’s books, reads from her novel “The Kiss”. A Scottish school girl develops a great interest for the painter Gwen John during a stay in Paris and begins to connect the painter’s romantic relationship with Auguste Rodin with her own passion for her art teacher.

Joan Lingard has published numerous novels for adults as well as picture, children’s and young adults’ books. In 1998 she was given an Order of the British Empire for her contribution to youth literature.
