Literatures of the World
Presentation · György Dalos
Speaker · Friedhelm Ptok
The author reads from “A nyugalom”, a novel of oppressive coolness with moments of comic despair. He tells of a young writer and his mother, who are fettered together with an agonising bond. A fragile romantic relationship brings the first trace of hope in the life of the young man.
Attila Bartis, born in Marosvásárhely in Romania’s Transylvania in 1968, works as a photographer and has written three volumes of prose in cool and oppressive tones, for which he was awarded the Tibor-Déry-Prize and the Márai-Prize.
