Collective projects are in, from Hollywood to Wikipedia. In all areas of life it’s possible to find examples of the individual giving way to the interests of the group. No successful American film is the work of a single screenwriter and major projects like the collective internet encyclopedia Wikipedia are only possible through the efforts of thousands. In business so called peer-to-peer connections between individuals on the same level play an ever-increasing role. This rising collectivism is the product of neither a particularly democratic view of humanity nor a specific social ideology.
