The Prizewinners of the Stückemarkt 2008!

The following authors were awarded at this year’s Stückemarkt:

The New Playwriting Prize which is worth 5,000 Euro was awarded to Klaas Tindemans for his play “Bulger”, translated from the Dutch by Uwe Dethier. The world premier will be in the season 08/09 at the Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin.

For the second time in the history of the Stückemarkt the tt stückemarkt Commission, worth 7,000 Euro, was awarded to Anne Habermehl whose new play will be premiered at the Bayerisches Staatschauspiel München.

Both awards are funded by the Federal Centre for Political Education.

New in 2008: Deutschlandradio Kultur chooses a play of this year’s participants in order to adapt it as a radio play. The production of a radio play goes to Sergej Medwedew for his play “The Hairdresser”, translated from the Russian by Elina Finkel.

The radio play will be produced by Deutschlandradio Kultur.
