23rd international literature festival berlin

Experience literature up close: Every September, the international literature festival berlin (ilb) brings the world of books to Berlin for eleven days. Thousands of literature-loving visitors of all ages meet their favorite authors and the most exciting new discoveries of the year at readings, discussions, screenings, and workshops. The 23rd ilb will take place from 6 to 16 September 2023 at various locations in Berlin. From 11 September, the Haus der Berliner Festspiele will once again be part of this year’s festival.

The international literature festival berlin is one of the most renowned literary events in the world. Its broad stylistic and thematic spectrum is unique and brings the entire literary wealth of our time to Berlin with prose, poetry, nonfiction, graphic novels, and children’s and young adult books. The programme ranges from readings with Nobel Prize winners to cutting-edge discussions with the decisive voices of tomorrow.
