Hans-Jörg Rheinberger

Molecular Biologist and Science Historian Hans-Jörg Rheinberger was born in 1946 and studied Philosophy, Linguistics and Biology in Tübingen and Berlin. From 1997 to 2014, he was Director of the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science. He is Honorary Professor for the History of Science at TU Berlin, Dr. h.c. at ETH Zurich and a member of the Berlin-Brandenburgische Akademie der Wissenschaften and of the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina.
