Dasha Rush

Dasha Rush is a Russian-born artist who sees the genre as a starting place, not a destination. She is a respected and well-traveled DJ and live performer, but her work is equally focused away from the dance floor, and sometimes away from music itself. Combining her activities as a DJ and techno producer on her Fullpanda imprint, founded in 2005, with other multi-artistic collaborations alongside visual artists or dancers, Dasha likes to push the boundaries of contemporary dance music to the limit, encourages experimentation with various musical (and non-musical) forms and constructing thoughtful compositions and interactions between the media, for instance in her recent audiovisual project named “Antarctic Takt”. After the premiere at Atonal festival in 2014, she presented it at Mutek Montreal 2015 and Volt Festival, among other venues. “Dark Hearts of Space”, a collaborative project with visual artist Stanislav Glazov, premiered at Unsound Krakow 2016. In her strange and twisted world, machines are the protagonists of neo-romanticism, interweaved with human dreams.
