Elliott Sharp

Driven by strong rhythmical forces, energetically charged, at the same time precisely constructed – this describes the music of Elliott Sharp (born in 1951 in Cleveland). Trained classically as a composer and instrumentalist, Sharp found his musical homeland in the late 1970s in New York’s so-called Downtown scene, in which jazz, progressive rock music and experimental improvisation art mixed. Sharp worked with numerous musicians of different styles and founded a number of ensembles. He has released more than 85 recordings spanning from orchestral works to techno music.
