Open Campus

The Theatertreffen will be a venue for encounters and networking between students from universities, theatre institutes and art academies. These emerging actors, directors, dramaturges, scenographers and theatre scholars will visit performances of Theatertreffen and Stückemarkt and take part in the festival’s discourse programme. Students from various fields will meet in workshops led by authors and performers of the Stückemarkt, during the international platform “Shifting Perspectives” and in open seminar formats hosted by participating universities. This will give them an opportunity to enter into a dialogue about aesthetic and socio-political issues, as well as about their own interests and ideas.

Parallelwelten 2: Democracy & Video Games

Just like the political system, video games depend on participation by individuals, because there is no progress without it. But how do we deal with unexpected consequences of our decisions? Can video games be participatory spaces for social debate, just like the theatre? Parallel worlds 2 will investigate this question in parallel with the Theatertreffen’s Stückemarkt.

Parallel worlds is a platform for people aged 16 and upwards, which collects, tests and discusses various kinds of participation in the world of video games.
