Clara Weyde

Clara Weyde is a freelance director and has been Head of Acting at Theater Magdeburg since 2022. From the 2027/28 season, she will take over as Artistic Director of Schauspiel Leipzig alongside Clemens Leander and Bastian Lomsché. Weyde initially studied Communication Studies, Political Science and Political Communication in Munich and Berlin, and was involved in projects of international development. In 2015, she completed a degree in directing at the Hamburg Theatre Academy (University of Music and Theatre). She is a founding member and sits on the board of the ‘IKIB - Institut für KI und Bühne’ and has served as a mentor for the German Cultural Council’s ‘Women in Culture and Media’ programme.
