International Forum – Arts and Politics Vol. I
- With English translation
Past Dates
The theatre network Port B., initiated by Japanese director Akira Takayama, explores the collective memories of cities, mapping social consciousness by recombining media quotes, memory traces and set pieces from urban spaces. In his performative installations and excursions, which connect at the interfaces of art, architecture, politics and research, he reveals taboo zones of Japanese society. Together with dramaturge Aljoscha Begrich and the International Forum’s scholarship holders, he investigates Berlin as an Arrival City and traces transformations of its urban habitat. Both Akira Takayama and Aljoscha Begrich are alumni of the International Forum.
