Past Dates

On 5 June 2018 various protagonists from the fields of art and art education will convene at the Gropius Bau to initiate conversations on how cultural education can be shaped and implemented today.

The rich and varied history of the Gropius Bau, which originally opened as a Museum and School of Decorative Arts, will provide the backdrop for exploring the role of the museum as an educational institution, and the notion of curation as a tool for education. The panel discussion aims to examine the social function of the art museum in the 21st century, investigating how it may operate as a civic space.
