Amir Gudarzi will present his play “Die Burg der Assassinen (The Assassins’ Castle)” at Stückemarkt, a highly poetical story of an attempted migration to Europe. The play overflows with historical references and describes not only the experiences of refugees, but also the Fata Morgana that the much longed-for Europe turns out to be in the course of the journey. Without any moralisation, Gudarzi describes the feeling of “Heimweh nach Zukunft (being homesick for the future)” and finds magical images that break through our reserves and challenge us to question perspectives of privilege.
