Gardens can be places of refuge, safe spaces, paradisiacal places. About 500 years ago the artist Hieronymus Bosch painted his Garden of Earthly Delights, which depicts, among other things, a fantastic landscape for human encounter beyond war, conflict and crises. This family workshop traces the question “How about, if… ?”: If gardens would not have walls or fences built around them? If they would be open for everyone? From today’s perspective we are designing a paradisiacal place and reflect on what belongs there – and what needs to stay outside.
