Amina Claudine Myers Trio

Past Dates

Amina Claudine Myers originates from Little Rock / Arkansas – home of gospel and blues. These origins have always been apparent in her organ playing and singing – even when joining Chicago’s AACM in the 70s and performing with Muhal Richard Abrams, Leroy Jenkins and Roscoe Mitchell. Since the 90s the pianist, organist and singer has been playing gospel, blues and modern jazz with New York musicians in the likes of Bill Laswell – her collaboration with Lester Bowie and his Organ Ensemble a memorable example.

Together with the Turkish singer and actress Özay she has been performing before - on a tour dedicated to Bessie Smith and Billie Holiday. The Berlin-resident is famous for her appearance in the movie 40 qm Deutschland.
