Past Dates

Formed in 1996 by guitarist Thomas Weber, this Karlsruhe ensemble has long relied on keyboardist Heike Aumüller and bassist Johannes Frisch to forge its moody, genre-agnostic strain of freeform music that’s both open-ended and meticulously defined. The group has released ten albums during its career, with each new transmission exploring novel terrain, indicating Kammerflimmer Kollektief’s endless yearning for new frontiers. The group’s most recent album “There Are Actions Which We Have Neglected And Which Never Cease To Call Us” features music created with disparate global locales, both real and imagined, in mind and the entrancing sonic landscapes apply a wide-ranging variety of colours and textures to a post-rock foundation transformed by elusive, spontaneous discoveries. The group creates dazzling atmospheres marbled by tension, beauty and uncertainty. For this performance the ensemble also includes regular collaborator Giga Brunner on drums.
