Talk with the audience on 19 November after the performance

“aKabi” is a work about the limits and possibilities created by the use of unconventional shoes. The result is an extremely rigorous performance on the very edge of balance, a piece of stunning sculptural beauty.

Aydin Teker’s works are the result of a very long process of research and maturing. “I always start by creating the problem. Then I spend the rest of my time trying to solve it.” says the choreographer. “I love working in laboratory atmosphere, where I can share the research with my dancers. We go through very rich and intense processes together. There are no prejudices about what is wrong or right. We allow the body to find solutions, which we then present to the audience. The esthetics is the direct outcome of the working process.”
