“To be able to live, one needs illusions”
Otto Rank

“Just for Show” is a show about showing and showing off in a world where looking good has become more essential than being good; where faking it has become synonymous with making it, where beautiful lies hide grubby truths.

Using virtual projection, visual illusion and word play, DV8’s international cast explores the importance of appearance and image in our lives. When reality has a different script from the one in our dreams, who wouldn’t make up stories to fool themselves?

DV8 Physical Theatre’s work is about taking risks, both physically and aesthetically, breaking down barriers between dance and theatre, dealing with personal politics and, above all, communicating ideas and feelings clearly and unpretentiously. It is determined to be radical yet accessible, and to take its work to as wide an audience as possible.

"Just for Show" won two of the four awards available at the 39th Belgrade International Theater Festival BITEF: the Jury's Special Prize, and the Audience Award.
