In the midst of the pandemic, in November 2020, it was announced that Dr Carsten Brosda was appointed as new president of Deutscher Bühnenverein (German Stage Association). What are the responsibilities facing an interest group and employers’ association in times of a pandemic, when all theatres and independent production houses are closed? In conversation with Laura Kiehne as a representative of ensemble-netzwerk, this talk will analyse and discuss which models of protection for artists are required and planned on a political level – and what the future could bring if individual voices are not heard.
