The 2022 Theatertreffen is both a new beginning and a conclusion. After two digital festival editions, the curtain at Haus der Berliner Festspiele will finally rise again for actual performances with live audiences. At the same time, this is the last festival under the artistic direction of Yvonne Büdenhölzer, who is leaving Theatertreffen after 11 years. Several members of her team are also leaving for pastures new.
On 20 May, we will celebrate – with all those who have shaped and carried Theatertreffen over the past 11 years and with everyone who wants to celebrate with us. The doors to our Side Stage (Seitenbühne) will open at 21:00 h and Fuffifufzich will perform a live act, followed by a set by DJane Linda Pöppel.
11 years of festival rush in the capital, 11 years of bad and not-quite-so-bad scandals, 11 years of school reunion, 11 years of falling asleep in the front row and standing ovations all the way to the back row. Let’s raise a glass to the Theater and the Treffen!
