JAPAN AND THE WEST | CHAMBER MUSIC

Quatuor Bozzini

Past Dates

Questions of intonation, the gradual process of change in microtonal sound spaces, rhythmic texture, non-deliberation of form, interaction between image and sound, perception of structure and form. Composers as differing as James Tenney, Jo Kondo and Chiyoko Szlavnics have all dealt with these issues in their works. The Bozzini-Quartet will, as in its performance at MaerzMusik 2004, present a highly original programme and deal with the topic of “Japan and the West” in a number of contrasting ways.
