Creating Figures and Heads
Part of Louise Bourgeois: The Woven Child
Sculptures are either chiselled from stone or moulded in metal, one may think. But the artist Louise Bourgeois challenged this idea in her textile works. At the age of 80 she discovered her own wardrobe as a pool of material from which to craft heads and figures. Sometimes, she even had them encounter spiders. Her creations are inspected closely in this workshop, inspiring the participants to create heads and creatures of their own.
