The author and president of the Japanese association of writers wrote his novels and stories in the tradition of the Japanese Shishôsetsu novel. He reads out of his short story “Daidokoro”. Unlike his earlier work the theme here is not the breakdown of the individual, but his recovery as well as the harmony of individual love and familial cohesion.
Hiroshi Sakagami, born in Tokyo 1936, studied Formal Logic and wrote many oft-awarded novels and short stories, in which the individual world of emotions is represented and the everyday surpasses its usual boundaries.
