The sought-after pianist Jonathan Ware, who is especially renown for chamber music and lied accompaniment, can look back on performances at the Carnegie Hall, the Ravinia Festival, the Rheingau Festival, and the Wigmore Hall London. He has accompanied Benjamin Appl and Dame Felicity Lott among others at lieder recitals, as well as young singers for Marilyn Horne’s “The Song Continues” programme. Commissions include recitals with Michael Katz, Michael Kelly, and a 2013 lieder concert tour throughout the USA and Canada with Tara Erraught. Jonathan Ware is also the official lied accompanist for the International Meistersinger Academy in Neumarkt, and has taken up several residencies at the Ravinia Festival in Chicago. During the Wigmore Hall Song Competition in 2011 and Das Lied Competition in 2012, he was awarded the coveted pianist prize, and in 2014 he won first prize at the Hugo Wolf Competition with Ludwig Mittelhammer. He is studying lied accompaniment with Wolfram Rieger at the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin.
