Stefan Wipplinger
Stefan Wipplinger was born in Upper Austria in 1986. He studied Experimental Design at the University of Fine Arts in Linz before working as an assistant director at a small theatre in Linz and in the independent theatre scene. After applying for various degree courses, such as acting and film directing, he moved to Berlin for a course in Theatre Studies, which he soon exchanged for Dramatic Writing at Berlin’s University of the Arts. His short film “Es wird sicher passieren” (It will surely happen) was presented at international film festivals in 2013 and in 2014, the Grips-Theater selected him for a play-development for the Berlin Childrens’ Theatre Award. His first full-length play “Hose Fahrrad Frau” (Trousers Bicycle Woman) has been represented by the publishing house Verlag der Autoren since January 2015.
