Olivia Wenzel was born in Weimar in 1985. She studied Cultural Studies and Aesthetic Practise at the University of Hildesheim and currently lives and works in Berlin. She writes texts for the stage and texts for quiet reading, makes music under the name of OTIS FOULIE and works a performer – most recently together with the collective vorschlag:hammer in the play “Die Erfindung der Gertraud Stock”.
Olivia Wenzel’s texts for the theatre have been performed at Münchner Kammerspiele, Thalia Theater in Hamburg, Deutsches Theater Berlin and Ballhaus Naunynstraße, among others. Her prose texts were featured at internationales literaturfestival berlin, Literaturhaus Hamburg and at Prosanova – Festival für junge deutschsprachige Gegenwartsliteratur. In 2017, she took part in the Klagenfurt Literature Course in the context of the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize and in the Author’s Workshop at LCB. Her debut novel will be published by S. Fischer Verlag in 2019. Beside her work as a writer, Olivia Wenzel holds workshops, works on texts and writing with children and young people and is part of the network cobratheater.cobra.
