Claudia Bauer has been associated director at Schauspiel Leipzig since the beginning of the 2015/16 season. She was the head of Theaterhaus Jena from 1999 to 2004 and was associated director at Neues Theater Halle from 2005 to 2007. She has directed productions at Staatstheater Stuttgart, Münchner Kammerspiele, Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz, Schauspiel Leipzig, Theater Magdeburg and Staatstheater Schwerin, among others. Claudia Bauer is known as an expert for “unperformable” plays and has directed many successful world premieres. In Leipzig, she has so far directed productions of Wolfram Höll’s “Und dann”, which was invited to Heidelberger Stückemarkt, Mülheimer Theatertage – Stücke and Autorentheatertage Berlin, all in 2014, Jean Genet’s rarely performed “Splendid’s”, “Die Ermüdeten oder Das Etwas, das wir sind” by Bernhard Studlar and a stage adaptation of “Metropolis” based on Thea von Harbou and Fritz Lang.
As of April 2017
