Thomas Krüger has been the president of the Federal Agency for Civic Education since July 2000. As early as 1995, he was appointed president of Deutsches Kinderhilfswerk. Furthermore, he is second deputy chairman of the commission for youth media protection and a member of the advisory board for the German Federal President’s History Competition. Between 1991 and 1994, he was Senator for Youth and Family in Berlin; following this, he was a member of the Federal German Parliament from 1994 to 1998.
