Bernhard Schlink
Bernhard Schlink is Emeritus Professor of Public Law and Legal Philosophy at the Humboldt University Berlin, Visiting Professor for European and Comparative Law at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York and a bestselling novelist. He has been a judge of the Constitutional Court of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, advised the Round Table’s working group on the “New Constitution for the GDR” and also worked as a representative and expert for the German Federal Constitutional Court on proceedings including the first all-German election to the German Federal Parliament, abortion and the premature dissolution of parliament. His legal publications include text books on basic rights and on police and public order law. His fictional works include “The Reader”, “Flights of Love” and most recently “Olga”.
