Dramaturg – Oberhausen, Germany
Participant International Forum 2019
Hannah Saar, born in 1991, studied Theatre and Culture at Ludwigs-Maximilians-Universität in Munich and at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London. She is interested in questions of authenticity and the reproduction of inequalities in contemporary theatre. She worked as an assistant producer and director at Saarländisches Staatstheater, at the London International Festival of Theatre, at HAU Hebbel am Ufer in Berlin, Münchner Kammerspiele and as a freelance producer and dramaturg for independent productions. Together with Julian Warner and Oliver Zahn, she founded the artistic research company HAUPTAKTION which conducts ethnographic and research-based explorations of theatrical practises using embodied self-experiments. The company develops theatre performances (most recently “Zweiter Versuch über das Turnen”), lectures and texts. Hannah Saar is also a co-founder of INITIATIVE für SOLIDARITÄT am THEATER (Initiative for Solidarity in the Theatre). She has been working as a dramaturg at Theater Oberhausen since the 2018/19 season.
