Fatima A. Maan obtained her BA (Hons) from the New York University Abu Dhabi in Theatre and Economics. Her play “Humera” was presented at the New York University Abu Dhabi’s Arts & Humanities Capstone Festival, Aks International Minorities Festival in Lahore and ‘Queer’ Asia in London. Her play “Jhaanjar Di Paanwan Chhankaar” toured Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Multan and Faisalabad to packed audiences and made its American premiere at the National Queer Theater’s Criminal Queerness Festival during World Pride 2019 in New York City. Currently she is working as an Associate Artist at Olomopolo Media, producing “Humera 2.0”, and trying to think of ways to fix Pakistan. Fatima A. Maan’s ultimate aim is to create theatre that addresses issues less talked about in the Pakistani society, push audiences to think critically, and hence lead to a more progressive, self-reflexive and aware society.
