Ryoji Ikeda

Since the middle of the 1990s, Ryoji Ikeda (born in 1966 in Gifu / Japan, lives in Paris) has been among the internationally leading composers and artists in the field of newest digital technologies and their use in visual and acoustic presentations. His works consist of time-space compositions in which musical and visual material is reduced to a minimum: sinus waves, sound impulses, light pixels and number data. He researches sound, time and space on the basis on mathematical methods and transforms them in his concerts and installations into an intense experience for the audience.
