QuerKlang

QuerKlang is a music education project at the University of the Arts that collaborates with Berlin schools, freelance composers and MaerzMusik. During the 2011/12 school year, composers Eres Holz, Makiko Nishikaze, Mathias Hinke, Stefan Keller and Tobias Dutschke worked pupils.
Eres Holz’s music is influenced by extramusical inspirational sources, such as psychology and film. Makiko Nishikaze lives and works as a composer, pianist and teacher in Berlin. Her composition work is based on a selection of design elements and sounds with precisely defined sound colours.
Mathias Hinke writes for ensembles and orchestras in Europe and America. In his work, he is currently occupied with the illusion of a timeless music.
Stefan Keller first studied the oboe and then composition and music theory. His work involves instrumental compositions for different orchestras as well as a short opera and works with live electronics.
Tobias Dutschke works as a musician, performer and composer in theatre and music theatre. He has created a number of music theatre evenings in the past years.
