Simeon Pironkoff was born in Sofia and studied composition and conducting at the University for Music and Performing Arts Vienna. Following his studies, he worked as a conductor with several opera companies as well as various youth orchestras. In 1992, Simeon Pironkoff founded the PHACE | Contemporary Music ensemble, which at the time was called ensemble on_line vienna. In 2004, he was appointed associate professor for conducting at the University for Music and Performing Arts Vienna. As a conductor and a composer, Simeon Pironkoff works with several orchestras and ensembles based in Europe and Asia. He has produced many publications and CD recordings with 20th century works and holds guest lectures and master classes in conducting in both Asia and Europe.
