Julia Gerlach
Musicologist Julia Gerlach is active as an author, curator and producer. In addition, she manages sound art and experimental music theatre projects. In 2003 she founded KlangQuadrat – büro für kunst::musik together with Georg Klein. She has held teaching assignments at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts and conducts research on body – music – gender. In October 2009 she took up the position of project coordinator at the ZKM in Karlsruhe; in 2011 she became co-curator of Peter Weibel and project director of the “Sound Art. Klang als Medium der Kunst” exhibition at ZKM. Since October 2012 she has been directing the music section of the DAAD Berlin’s artist program.
