Cecilia Inés Castagneto was born in Argentina. She studied conducting/orchestral direction at the Universidad Católica Argentina (UCA) with the piano and violin as her instrumental courses. In Argentina she led various orchestras and choirs. She als worked as an assistant to Carlos Calleja at the Orquesta académica del Teatro Colón. Following this, she continued her education in Germany, completing her master degree in conducting with Prof. Rüdiger Bohn at the Robert-Schumann-Hochschule. She was assistant to Prof. Rüdiger Bohn at the European Workshop for Contemporary Music and the opera “L´absence”. She is currently studying with Prof. Arturo Tamayo in Lugano.
