Susanne Kennedy
Susanne Kennedy was born in Friedrichshafen in 1977. She read theatre studies in Mainz, Paris and Amsterdam as well as directing at the Amsterdam School of the Arts. At the National Theatre in The Hague, she directed plays by Henrik Ibsen, Enda Walsh, Sarah Kane and Elfriede Jelinek among others. Her productions have repeatedly been presented at the Dutch Theatre Festival. At the NT Gent, she directed Fassbinder’s “Die bitteren Tränen der Petra von Kant (The bitter tears of Petra von Kant” in 2011. For her 2013 production of Marieluise Fleißer’s debut play “Fegefeuer in Ingolstadt (Purgatory in Ingolstadt)”, she was distinguished as the best emerging director of the year and awarded the 3sat-prize at the 2014 Theatertreffen.
