Mona el Gammal
Mona el Gammal studied scenography and has been working on narrative spaces since 2006. Together with her team, she creates parallel worlds that incorporate the audience and turn them into protagonists. She has worked at such venues as the Nationalgalerie Berlin, with La Fura dels Baus and was most recently set and costume designer as well as performer at SIGNA. Her “HAUS//NUMMER/NULL” won the Kölner Theaterpreis and was performed again at the Theatertreffen Berlin’s Stückemarkt in 2014. In 2016 in Berlin, “RHIZOMAT” carried this narrative forward by telling a story between utopia and dystopia. Based on this work she developed the Virtual Reality Experience “RHIZOMAT VR” that takes a critical look at the new digital medium.
