With Kreuzberg United, NaunynRitze, one of Kreuzberg’s most influential centres for youth work, takes its game on the road to Gropius Bau. For decades, it has served as a hub for community, participation and self-organisation within the neighbourhood. For one day, the long-running relay cup tournament for Kreuzberg youth centres moves into the atrium, where teams from the neighbourhood compete for the trophy.
NaunynRitze is a sports, education and cultural centre in the heart of Berlin-Kreuzberg. The organisation’s main focus is open youth work, with a particular emphasis on cultural and sports-based activities. Closely connected to Berlin’s hip-hop scene, NaunynRitze has helped shape the city’s cultural history like few other places. As a space for encounter, exchange and communication, it provides non-commercial activities and opportunities for participation within the neighbourhood. Through its open youth programme at NaunynRitze and its open children’s programme at Civilipark, it creates accessible spaces for exploration and personal development, where children and young people can actively shape activities according to their own interests and aspirations.
