Sonic Interventions © Rahema Zaheer
As part of Spätschicht x AL.Berlin, Sonic Interventions transforms the south terrace of Gropius Bau with special guests into a space of collective listening and movement. The Berlin-based transdisciplinary ensemble weaves together jazz, groove, improvisation, spoken word, and dance into an immersive live performance. Drawing on diasporic perspectives and speculative futures, the band creates expansive sonic landscapes that move between contemplative passages and powerful rhythmic energy, inviting audiences into a shared experience of connection, imagination, and transformation.
Sonic Interventions is a Berlin based, transdisciplinary, Diaspora futuristic groove and jazz band. Known for inclusive live spectacles, in which moments of meditation and trance rise into heavy grooves, they merge improvisation, poetry, performance and dance inspired by the cosmos. In 2025, Sonic Interventions was awarded the German Jazz Award as Best Newcomer. The band has appeared at XP in Saudi Arabia, Le Guess Who? Utrecht, Überjazz Hamburg, Fusion Festival Lärz, as well as XJAZZ! Festival Berlin. The band has opened for Cory Henry at Burghausen Jazz Festival. Collaborations include projects with Immanuel Wilkins, Dumama and Àbáse. Their acclaimed Debut Album “Do You Remember?“ appeared on Agogo Records in November 2024 and received critical acclaim.
