Drawing on the exhibition Kreuzberg: Kunst und Migration seit 1960 on guest labour and migration, Minh Duc Pham investigates how different histories of labour and exclusion are brought into relation within cultural institutions, and how processes of comparison and appropriation shape their interpretation. The performance turns its attention to the museum as a space in which histories are made visible and assigned relevance, while also being subject to institutional frameworks and forms of ordering. Pham examines how solidarity and marginalised histories can be incorporated into institutional self-presentation, while underlying structures and practices remain largely unchanged.

Minh Duc Pham is a Berlin-based artist working across sculpture, installation and performance. His practice examines the entanglements of memory, care and political control, with a recurring focus on Vietnamese contract labour migration to the former GDR. By reinterpreting bureaucratic language and everyday objects through speculative narration, Pham traces the underlying logics of institutional violence, juxtaposing them with moments of material vulnerability and care. Recent exhibitions and projects include Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin; Museum der bildenden Künste, Leipzig; Kunsthalle Osnabrück; and Vietnam Art Collection, Hanoi.
