For our turkish visitors Şehnaz Layıkel and Ilgaz Yalçınoğlu translated the accompanying glossary. The terms included in the glossary are culturally complex and nuanced. The interpretations offered here are not definitive, as the meanings of many of the terms herein are deeply subjective and are consistently contested, debated and re-evaluated.

Ámà: 4 Days on Caring, Repairing and Healing – Ámà: İlgi, Onarım ve Sağaltım Üzerine 4 Gün: Rezonans Odası
In addition to lectures, panel discussions and workshops on the themes of care, repair and healing, there will be a space for reading, reflection and informal conversation: the Resonance Room. Visitors are invited to get to know the stories of the Gropius Bau and its neighbourhood.

From 4 to 7 November 2021, the Gropius Bau hosts a four-day programme that focuses on diverse approaches to the fields of care, repair and healing. For our Turkish-speaking audience, Şehnaz Layıkel has translated the introductory text to the programme.

Thea Djordjadze: all building as making – Thea Djordjadze: her yapı bir eylem
From 18 September, the exhibition all building as making by Thea Djordjadze can be seen at the Gropius Bau. For our Turkish-speaking audience, Şehnaz Layıkel has translated the introductory text to the installation.

Emeka Ogboh. Ámà: The Gathering Place – Emeka Ogboh. Ámà: Buluşma Yeri
From 20 October, the installation Ámà: The Gathering Place by Emeka Ogboh opens in the atrium of the Gropius Bau. For our Turkish-speaking audience, Şehnaz Layıkel has translated the introductory text to the installation.

Zheng Bo in Conversation with Natasha Myers: Politics of Plants – Zheng Bo, Natasha Myers ile Sohbet Ediyor: Bitkilerin Siyaseti
For our Turkish-speaking audience, Şehnaz Layıkel has translated an interview between anthropologist Natasha Myers and artist Zheng Bo. Among other things, the conversation is about the relationship between humans and plants.

Hella Jongerius: On Weaving – Hella Jongerius: Dokuma Üzerine
The solo exhibition Hella Jongerius: Woven Cosmos deals with the centuries-old craft of weaving. For our series of Turkish translations, Şehnaz Layıkel has translated short texts on this subject. They give a brief insight into the origins of the craft – from the invention of the loom to the World Wide Web.

Yayoi Kusama: A Retrospective, Kids Programme – Yayoi Kusama: Bir Retrospektif, sergisi Çocuklar İçin
The Kusama Kids Tour is an interactive opportunity for children and teenagers to explore the exhibition Yayoi Kusama: A Retrospective. A booklet guides young visitors around the exhibition and asks questions that they can answer by finding hidden codes. The tour promises a playful introduction to Kusama’s art and her working methods, and young visitors can round off their experience by generating their own personal Kusama code.
