Being involved in artistic and curatorial processes, jointly conceiving ideas and teamwork are the primary focus of Kids Curate_Takeover. The two-year-long project organised by the Gropius Bau in cooperation with the cultural foundation Stiftung Brandenburger Tor enables Berlin pupils to experience and navigate their way from art production to an independently curated exhibition. Elementary school students from the current Max – Artists in Residence an Grundschulen programme of the Stiftung Brandenburger Tor will make regular visits to the Gropius Bau during the 2019/2020 school year and get to know the operational activities, processes and professions of the exhibition venue. At the end, the primary school students implement their own exhibitions on-site. This summer, students from Picasso Grundschule (primary school) kick off with Takeover.
